Fresh out of the traps, the London based youthful Cornish rockers have already been compared to The Stones, Jonny Thunders and The Strokes!
The band have been played/featured on 6 Music’s Radcliffe and Maconie, Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson as well as Radio 1’s Phil Taggert & Huw Stephens and John Kennedy on Radio X. They have been BBC Introducing’s national Record of the week and Huw Stephens has them on his Radio 1, Best of BBC Introducing playlist.
Firing on all youthful cylinders with effortlessly cool style, The Velvet Hands have art in their heart. From collectable record sleeves to everything else they do. Their recent cubist punk ‘Sick Of Living’ video was inspired by David Hockney’s polaroid collages, their latest release “Only Blame Myself” saw them working with artist Tanja Durrant on an animated sketch video.
The band have played Boardmasters, Port Eliot Festival, The Tate Gallery Festival, Leopallooza, supported Yak, Wild Smiles, The Bluetones, The Paves and more.In 2018 they have been tipped by many blogs and Mikey Jonns; This Feeling. The band recently played a sold-out gig at the Monarch in Camden as part of This Feeling’s Big in 2018 campaign. They are on tour with Himalayas in February, 3 of the first 4 dates sold out.
